What happens if a customer disputes a payment (chargeback)?

Last updated: July 10, 2026

If a customer disputes a charge made through a Maple payment link (also known as a chargeback), you don't need to handle it yourself.

Maple automatically submits dispute evidence on your behalf — including relevant details such as call logs — to support the charge. This happens behind the scenes, so there's nothing you need to do to respond to the dispute.

If the dispute is ultimately lost, the disputed amount is deducted from your future payouts.
