The AI is giving outdated info (says we're closed or delivery is paused) even though my settings are correct
Last updated: July 10, 2026
If your Maple AI agent is telling callers something that's no longer true — for example, that you're closed, or that delivery is paused — even though your current settings say otherwise, there's usually a simple explanation. A custom FAQ or knowledge entry that was added to your agent earlier is likely overriding your live settings.
Why This Happens
Your agent treats custom FAQ and knowledge entries as authoritative. So if someone added an entry a while back — say, a note that delivery was paused during a busy weekend — the AI will keep repeating it, even after you've updated your actual settings. The old entry simply outranks the live information, which is why the AI can sound out of date.
How to Fix It
To clear up an outdated answer, work through these steps:
Open your agent's FAQ or knowledge settings.
Find the outdated entry — the one stating the information the AI keeps repeating.
Delete it, or update it so it reflects what's true now.
Re-test your agent to confirm it's giving the correct answer.
Keeping Things Accurate
The best way to avoid this is to keep your custom entries current. Whenever something changes — your hours, your delivery availability, a menu detail — update the matching entry right away rather than leaving an old one in place. A quick edit keeps your AI in sync with your restaurant.
